The stickies didn't hold up - So all my tedious sticky work didn't pay off *sigh* Each time we walked in the room we found a different box lying on the floor. So I switched to stronger stickies on some of them. Which did seem to hold up at least longer then 1/2 a day, but we didn't think they would stay up once I added nick knacks.
Veg really liked the whole thing "Mommy, you did such a pretty job, I just love these boxes" And as they fell off the wall, he'd get so upset...
Hubby on the other hand kept saying "What are you doing?" "And what is that for?" "why are you putting boxes on our wall?" "And what is an Advent Calendar" But today he looked at them and realized how much Veg liked them, so he helped me tack in every box with thumb tacks, saying he would patch the holes after Christmas.
SOooo, long story short - DON'T DO this project unless you plan to have a lot of holes in your wall! OR - fasten them to a different board and hang the board like a picture frame (Hubby's idea)
Side Note - Hubby admitted to liking them today when he said "It's a shame these boxes are so flimsy, it would have been good to keep them every year" *smile* he went on to say that "Next time you put so much work in to something like this, it may be worth it do better boxes so you can keep them forever"
But Alas, its not all a loss - I think after Christmas, I'll cut out all of the lids and put them in my scrapbook! That will make a nice Christmas Memory page.
