With a little inspiration from marthastewart.com and kidscraftweekly and a blog site that my friend sent me (which I can't find the link or I'd post it here) I decided to make Advent boxes this year.... Although I was having trouble finding the type of boxes I wanted and using recycled items around the house just weren't coming together. So I ended up buying a pack of Truffle Boxes from Target.
They start out flat and then I folded 25 of them:
I then Dug in to my scrapbook and card making supplies for a total of 4 1/2 hours worth of crafting fun...
Here is what they look like before being hung on the wall..
I bought some sticky stuff that is supposed to peal off the walls when your done, but unfortunately it didn't stick to my boxes. So this was bad... I could have switched to Tacks, but didn't want any more holes in the walls (still have tons that I haven't patched since we moved in) So I broke out some of my two sided foamy stickies.... They aren't the REALLY GOOD brand, so I'm hoping they will easily peal back off the wall when we are done.
But this was the most tedious part of the project. Getting 6 little sticky squares on each of the 25 boxes and then hanging them without being too horribly crooked.
Here is what they look like on the wall (click on the pictures to see them bigger):
Oh, and there is nothing in them yet... But I'll let you know what I end up filling them with.
